How an accommodation actually gets granted
Talk to us as soon as you suspect your child needs support: there’s no wrong time to start the conversation.
A full assessment by an educational psychologist establishes exactly what accommodation fits, using the IEB’s required tests.
The application goes to the IEB’s own accommodations panel, who confirm what’s granted: typically within around 12 weeks.

Additional time in exams for students whose barrier to learning is documented and assessed.
Reader / scribe
Support for students with conditions such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or a physical impairment.
Computer use
For students whose handwriting is a genuine barrier to demonstrating what they know.
Separate venue
A distraction-free environment for students who need it to perform at their real level.
